Developing Supplementary Materials for Reading Skill by Using Local Wisdom

The purposes of this study are to describe the students’ needs and design supplementary materials for reading skill by using local wisdom second grade students MTs Al Khairaat Gorontalo. By Research Development Method, results show that 1) need which were related decription tourism objects, warning about cleanliness story. 2) Students preffer read text consisted 200-300 words. 3) want answer 5 W + 1 H questions True False in activities. 4) match vocabularies with pictures vocabulary building activity. 5) fill blank sentences Grammar 6) work group teacher should help them when they had a problem classroom. content be developed interesting easy way, language used must appropriate level, build cultural awareness motivated read. Therefore, integrating into materials, feel teaching learning process.
